Personally I rather not potentially slow down connections, IMO.

Chrome stable in windowed mode looks fine here.

Adguard works fine with Microsoft Edge - I've got full ad blocking and userscripts working through it right now. The caveat there, of course, is that it isn't free. If you don't mind doing some beta testing, you can get a beta tester license for free.
Or you can become a beta tester and get a free beta tester license and get ad blocking working in Edge.

The Mini Spy doesn't update for new posts in Edge - Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer work fine.

  6. Boo Berry added a post in a topic Edge or Previous Browser?

One of the weird Edge issues I notice quite a bit is that a tab will "flash" when attempting to open a new tab next to it. Other than that and the inability to disable smooth scrolling, I'm loving Edge - I even have full ad blocking and userscripts working. It's great!

Indeed, I find myself using it a lot in Chrome and Edge right now. I was just thinking yesterday about Firefox's lack of it.

If you're using something like Icaros (that comes with a codec pack) or Media Preview to display thumbnails for media files (e.g. video files), disable it and reboot.

I wouldn't call HTTPS Everywhere useless... however I'd say that from my own experiences that it just seems to be a troublemaker on some sites, hence why I avoid it. Bottom line, it's more trouble than it's worth using.

Works fine here in Chrome 44 stable. Try clearing your cache and cookies for Neowin.

That it does, but I wanted to use ASIO and it low latency, which I couldn't use with the ASUS sound card. The Schiit USB DAC with JRiver Media Center works pretty well when using ASIO, even with 4 ms latency.

This is one of the reasons I gave up on using an ASUS sound card some time ago. That, and the HORRIBLE ASIO driver. I'm glad I replaced it with several DACs, including the Schiit DAC I'm using right now... which got Windows 10 drivers yesterday.

I would of tried phone activation first before reinstalling Windows 8.

Ultimately it doesn't matter, as either way I'll either activate as an Insider or I'll use one of my Windows 8.1 keys.
