    Just for clarification:
Once you have done the upgrade from Windows 8.1 you do not need to use the license again. It will be wired to your Microsoft account and hardware's ID.
If you did the upgrade to Windows 10 Insider then you can head to Windows Update's Advanced Settings and select "Stop Insider Builds". You'll be prompted and if it goes well, then you can clean install without problems!!

The problem is that I need to be inside the OS to execute that correctly. I can't boot and select upgrade (I don't know why is that).

The only way I can think of is using a virtual machine and running it from there
As BoondockSaint said Media Center has been deprecated. This is due to licensing issues. Since Windows 10 was going to be given for free to a vast majority of users, Microsoft did not wanted to pay fees.

    Download Ccleaner:

Perform both: Cleaner and Registry and see if that helps.

Well... Just received a message from my aunt. I left it overnight doing a full chkdsk to see if there were some problems, and nada.

I still do not know what to do. I even copied the .sys files from C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ directory
Deleted some mysterious key from the registry, and still nothing...

Nope. Is a Dell Inspiron with 4th gen Intel Core i3. My aunt was using it and she told me she plugged in a USB stick that she got from a program she was studying.

I did. Even reset the settings to default. I read your trick and tried doing it to no avail. I even read about fully disconnecting the PC for a few seconds and plug it back again.
No KB and Mosue problems. Tried with separate ones and they work perfectly on other PCs, in BIOS and Recovery media.
Yup. Regarding RDP I don't know if it's enabled or not  :/. Is it enabled by default?

Is it possible to upgrade Windows without booting the OS?
Yo!!!! As the question implies, is it possible to upgrade Windows without booting the OS? See, my uncle is experiencing a dreadful problem: His USB Keyboard and mouse does not work (hasn't PS ports either). I don't know what happened, but long story short it does not work when Windows is logged in. It does work everywhere else: booting from recovery, BIOS, USB Media. System Restore is not working (tried 3 different settings). And left it running a full chkdsk /r /x + sfc.

So I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade Windows from the installation media, without having to boot the OS (due to the keyboard and mouse problems)?

    Thanks a lot!

If the driver is old enough, then it can be that it is not properly signed. Try Disabling Driver Signature Enforcement at startup, by:

Go to advanced recovery: Press Shift + RestartAdvanced OptionsAdvanced Startup SettingsPress #7 -> Disable Driver Signature EnforcementTry reinstalling the driver once more to see if that works. If it doesn't work, try installing the driver manually. Go ahead and grab from the web the drivers and unzip them somewhere.
Open device manager (Win Key + m)Look for the device and right click on it and select Update Driver SoftwareThen browser to folder, and look for the driver's filesPress next and let it update.Hope it works!

This x 1,000,000. I would also recommend heading to mozilla's Developer Network. I learned CSS from there.
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS

Also, look for CSS3 effects instead of using .gif and intensive JavaScript. Animate.css is a good candidate for learning and building quickly stuff: Pretty simple too!!
    https://daneden.github.io/animate.css/

And for building responsive sites, learn a bit about Flexboxes
    https://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/a-guide-to-flexbox/
Or use a css framework like bootstrap: http://getbootstrap.com/
    Much has changed bro...
