    Too soon?
FYI: BOTH major US parties start their presidential debates next month (August), and its only 7 months until the first 4 state primaries & caucuses where party convention delegates will be selected.
We're in for a solid 15 months of campaigning.

Michigan's Gov. Snyder ruled himself out a few weekes  ago, but Ohio's Gov. Kasich is in and getting good donations.
What's making a big impact is that Jeb Bush is getting a lot of donations from big NY region Democrat donors rather than them supporting Hillary etc. He's building quite a warchest.
Also, Clinton's polls are  totally tanking. It seems the more people see of her and Bill the more the 'ewwww....not again!' factor sets in.

Six-month-old baby gets lifetime hunting licence in US
Here kids under 10 can hunt with a mentor supervising. In 2012 a 5 year old boy took two big deer on successive days, using a cut down womens .50 cal muzzleloader. The shots were 80 and 60 yards. Nice shootin'.
    Michigan under 10 license: $7.50.

  6. DocM added a post in a topic How Planned Parenthood could shut down the government

The proble is that PP, and some rather ethically challenged aortion docs, have supported abortions done in the third trimeter: aka late-term abortions. Some were done very near or during labor. Up to 6% of abortions at one time. This did not sit well.
Their excuse was that such a procedure is necessary in the case of a late discovered anacephaly**, an argument which has been rejected by 42 States and the Federal government because the numbers being done far outstripped the prevalance of the condition
Poll wise,  US adults have opposed late-term abortion by from 56-70% since the Federal late-term abortion ban was passed in 2003. There is a life/safety of the mother exception, but the State and Federal ban is still in place.
Still. PP and some docs skirt the law by inducing fetal death by administering a lethal injection into the heart before aborting it. Most people, including many physicians, would call that infanticide regardless of the technical definition of fetus.
To be sure, anacephalic fetuses should be aborted but the better answer is to identify them sooner when the abortion is less risky to the mother, another problem with the practice.

  7. DocM added a post in a topic USAF + UK's R.E.L. for SABRE SSTO/hypersonic engine

The atmospheric winged hypersonic passenger vehicle reference design is called A2. Its engine is called SCIMITAR, a precooler and turbocompressor fed (sort of) bypass ramjet. This is the engine the USAF probably wants. Mach 5+.

The SKYLON can  take a piloted  crew cabin in place  of its cargo bay.
A SABRE powered SKYLON could start at zero feet and velocity, do the runway rollout & takeoff.  Subsonic all the way to orbit, switching from airbreathing to LOX on the fly.
The "thrusters" are staged combustion rocket engines, and that engine type has been throttled to 10% with a hydrogen Isp of 465.5 (RL-10). It don't get much better.

  10. DocM added a post in a topic How Planned Parenthood could shut down the government

Most people in the US are opposed to Planned Parenthood's  "any age without adult consent, any reason, any time right up  to labor" policy on abortion. Even some of the medical societies oppose it on the last point. Others look at the subsidy as corporate welfare.  Still others see its founding philosophy: eugenics, targeting minorities in particular.
Either way, and especially if they're selling body parts which is illegal, they've made a lot of enemies.

The last shutdown was because a divided Congress couldn't agree within itself. If this gets through the Senate the House will agree, so the only way a shutdown would happen is if Obama triggers it by vetoing the  budget.

It looks like some Democrats are fed up with Planned Parenthood too as it looks like the funding cutoff has 58 votes, 2 short of stopping a filibuster. Of course they only need 51 if the Republicans pull the same kind of stunt Democrats did with Obamacare.
The real problem here is that in a recently released hidden camera investigative video the doctors cut the limb out from under themslves and Planned Parenthod with their comments about how much money they'd get per dead fetus, and if they'd get more money by cutting it up and selling it piecemeal. That and under US transplant law selling organs, including fetal body parts, is illegal.
This has people on both sides and the middle upset.

The forum is a mess on my Optimus G Pro (Kit Kat & Chrome).
Overlapping & misplaced text, huge minispy, sometimes a new thread title box is covered by the tags box & sometimes not, the editor is sluggish, IMG tags are a crap shoot, the New Post and nav buttons need be duplicated to the top etc..
The only plus I see is that I can now insert images & links and have text styles.
