I used the tool from that link to make an iso, as for some reason all my USB drives are MIA, doesnt help. I don't know how everyone else is doing a clean install and getting it to activate, I have upgraded my laptop to Windows 10, tried a refresh, which failed, and then did a fresh install, only to have it tell me that Windows inst activated, and no matter what I try, it wont activate, so would ppl be so kind as to share how their are getting they clean installs activated?
Question: Are those that are getting clean installs activated, signing in with an MSA or a local account?
Not here it isnt, I updated laptop to Windows 10, that went fine and was automatically activated, tried to do a refresh so I could have a clean system to image, I got an INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error, so that didn't complete, and when I did a clean install, I couldn't activate it, going by PsYcHoKiLLa's post above a clean install is not possible, if what that MS tech person said is correct
It's MS's way of getting you back for all the jokes you have posted here over the years
And the so called refresh option is a no go for me, as I tried it on my laptop, and thanks to what ever Windows 10 did, it is now in a error loop saying INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE - so its off to a good start so far
Funny thing is if I do slmgr /dlv on the laptop, and on the other system I updated to Windows 10 they both have the same key, the V366T one, yet if I do slmgr.vbs /ato on the laptop it tells me that the key is blocked, if thats the case why is the other PC fine, this new system from MS is very confusing
I upgraded from 8.1 - so they should have had my HWID as so many have claimed, just tried a fresh install, skipped key twice, and it wont activate, so what good is doing the update only to have the clean install fail, thought HWID was supposed to stop all this, not that its an issue, I have an image of 8.1 system, will go back to that, upgrade, refresh and image that
if you have the C:\$Windows.~BT folder, grab the media creation tool from Here, it will make an iso/usb image from the files in that folder. Seeing as they are the preload files they are the official release
