E3 2011: Dark Souls Trailer

That trailer really sold it for me.

Huge bosses. If a game has them, i pretty much have to play it. I would have liked to have seen a proper co-op mode in this though.

Probably why Shadow of the Colossus is one my favourite games.

Is it still a PS3 exclusive, Audio?

It was never an exclusive, this is on 360 as well. Demon Souls was the exclusive.

Demon's Souls was OK at best. The gameplay was fantastic ("difficulty" included), but the story was almost non-existent which made it a chore to actually play through the game. I hope they fix/add the story for Dark Souls, and if they do it definitely will be an awesome game.

my main problem with Demon's Souls are the graphics...i was really expecting a visual masterpiece from the reviews, the actual product is more like an upscaled PS2 game. other than that it's OK, i don't mind the repetitive and hard gameplay, i figure it's like an 80's arcade game, like Golden Axe or something. You're not supposed to get very far without a lot of trial and error.

Having said all that, hope Dark Souls DOES come closer to a conventional modern game...there's a reason why these conventions have become the norm. like actual save points. people who work 50 hours a week can ill afford a game where one level could take all night to finish!

Um when you quit demons souls and load it you appear exactly where you were when you quit  Demons Souls saves all the time, every little thing you do/pickup/kill is saved.

If anything it's a more advanced system as you don't need save points and clunky menus to save in.

what do you mean, i can quit mid-level and next time it will restart there, not at the start of the level or the nexus? will have to try that!

It will start exactly where you quit :) Although I'm sure quitting during a boss battle might restart the whole thing, I've never done that myself.

LOL, thanks for the trailer Audio :) I tweeted to you about this game since I haven't played Demon Souls before... still interested in the game though. Fingers crossed that the game isn't too hard :p
