Sheppard is the new Gordon Freemn or Solid Snake, that is, the legendary game character of this generation.

The new super melee attacks look cool, but I don't understand how the holographic interface of the omni tool becomes a melee weapon capable of doing damage to something. It looks awesome, it just doesn't make any sense.

not exactly.... to us who know him yes def. but gordon was so popular that a lot of people who never played knew him and solid snake was on multiple platforms so a ton of other people knew him.

BioWare Mass Effect team must have borrowed that bit from SWTOR guys. Shepard will have a light saber analogue and will be fighting against dusted volus jumping like Master Yoda :p

omg omg omg this is one of the best series ever made. The story is so rich it just blows anything else away.

Eagerly awaiting for this to release!

I just meet some weeks ago some prep girls who knew who Shepard is (That guy from the videogames, right?)

Looks excellent. Loving the melee attack and the improved maneuvering. Was always a day one purchase for me, but some additional reinforcement is always nice :).

Guess I'll be the first one to say this looks very not interesting, and I'll leave it at that.

It's a little underwhelming in terms of "new" stuff. All they've really shown so far are some new locations, enemies, and a melee ability. You'll definitely enjoy it if you liked the first two games.

That's the thing, I still haven't finished ME2 and I got the $70 collectors edition. Something about the game just is just not very interesting to me. I played the hell out of the first one though.

Far away ... but extra dev time is almost invariably always good :) Looking forward to it!

Well, there's only so much "new" you can put in a sequel, otherwise it stops really being a sequel. (Plus, when people loved many elements of the previous versions, why fix what's not broken?)

At least it didn't include a 5 minute stretch of scanning a planet for iridium. ;) Or a badass son-of-a-bitch randomly swearing because, y'know, she's badass, and they've got to really emphasise that.
