Astra.Xtreme
That Feed Her to the Sharks is good stuff! First time hearing about them. Thanks! Not sure if I heard about these guys here, but check out "Casino Madrid". It's one of those albums that I've always had on my phone and is good the whole way through. adrynalyne and Draconian Guppy 2 Share

Feed Her to the Sharks was an interesting name I found on Spotify. I wasn't expecting it to be good but was pleasantly surprised. T3X4S
Is it typical for this genre to have the "vocals" drowned out by everything ? Listened to a couple songs, and could barely hear the lyrics. It was like it wasnt balanced correctly. I didnt know if I needed to adjust something, or if that is the "style". (sounded like the lyrics were muffled, or had the volume turned down)

Sorry - I thought you were saying the Audioslave was referencing the punk/hardcore band ( I was mentioning it was an old saying... didnt know if it was a cultural thing where you or someone might not have heard that reference before) "shape of things to come"

Yeah i've heard the saying before, just did not know the origins, whether or not the audioslave was because of the book/band/cultural T3X4S and Victor Rambo 2 Share

Liked this one a wee bit more than Bury Tomorrow, which is a bit too growly for my taste, though awesome instrumentation! Keep em coming! Astra.Xtreme
Maybe not exactly post-hardcore, but I was pretty impressed by these guys. Did not expect that guy to have a voice like that! Draconian Guppy 1 Share

ichi
Not exactly post-hardcore, mostly because depending on the song you can find different styles thrown in, from harcore to math and even some flamenco and dance. JordanMihailov
1 Cro-Mags The Age of Quarrel (1986) NYHC The mid to late 80's NY scene was where hardcore started to get more metal. It wasn't just faster punk anymore. It was HARDCORE. Cro Mags was one of the bands, along with Suicidal Tendencies and Agnostic Front, to cross over into thrash. 2 Integrity Humanity Is the Devil (1996) [EP] Metalcore Integrity was really the first Metalcore band. Bands before had mixed hardcore with thrash, but Integrity was the first to mix hardcore with the more extreme parts of metal. This, album is, I think, the pinnacle of their career (and in their album art). 3 His Hero Is Gone Monuments to Thieves (1997) Crust Punk When it comes to Crust Punk, this is the kind I like. The guitar tone is insane, and borders on sludge metal sometimes. 4 Coalesce Mathcore I had a friend who called them the Meshuggah of hardcore. Take that as you will. Sean Ingram sounds like a brontosaurus. 5 Botch We Are the Romans (1999) Mathcore This is tied with Converge's Jane Doe for being the definitive metalcore album. Pure musical perfection. 6 Refused The Shape of Punk to Come (1998) Post-Hardcore This is one of those albums that changed everything. Every hardcore band after Refused is influenced by them in some way. 7 At the Drive-In Relationship of Command (2000) Post-Hardcore The guitar work.... 8 Glassjaw Worship and Tribute (2002) Post-Hardcore/Alt. Metal Glassjaw abandoned the metalcore and misogony of their first album and replaced it with a much wider array of influences. Daryl Palumbo is one of the best vocalists in hardcore. 9 Starkweather Croatoan (2005) Starkweather's first album came out the same year as Integrity's. Both played a mixture of metal and hardcore, but Starkweather had a much bigger progressive metal and death metal influence. Criminally underrated. Philly hardcore rules. 10 Blacklisted Heavier Than Heaven, Lonelier Than God (2008) Hardcore This album sounds like pure frustration. Blacklisted abandoned the beatdown style of their debut and displayed a groovier, Helmet and Quicksand influenced sound. George Hirsch replaced his screaming style with a bluesy growl.
