joemailey Posted June 13, 2011 Share Posted June 13, 2011 Bugs I've noticed so far in iOS 5 Beta 1 & before you ask I know its a beta & I know it is meant to have bugs but I just feel like listing bugs I've encountered in the last 3 days. 1. Playing music via my car radio using an ipod cable - The phones speaker plays music, but the car speakers don't. almost as if it forgot to send the sound down the cable. This also happens were the phone nor the car speakers play sound. - fix = end the music app or restart the phone. 2. imessage/sms I attached a picture via imessage, then deleted it before I sent it. the camera icon remained greyed out until I ending the messages app. Can't fink of anymore at the minute. A pain in the arse for people like me that make use of playlists exessively. :whistle: Sometimes, the bottom-Toolbar is not... there. Accessing Mail from NC, for example, sometimes, it's just empty. It's blue and all but no icons. But that's about it. A few Apps that don't play great with iOS5, sure, like Facebook (replying to Messages is impossible due to UI-shenanigans) but yeah, apart from that it's super stable for me. I don't seem to get Over The Air-Sync with iTunes to work. It worked the first time I synced but since then, the option in Settings is greyed out. Roll back to 4.3.3, I'm going to guess iOS5 won't support the 3Gs when iOS5 is finally finished given it has little RAM. iOS4.2 was sluggish when I had a 3Gs. Yeah I will do as my battery life decreased by half as well! Im sure it will work with 3GS as they say on their website, probably just one of the bugs. cbosdell Posted June 18, 2011 Share Posted June 18, 2011 Here are the one's I've noticed: iBooks application is extremely buggy. Book covers aren't displaying unless they were purchased from the iBook store or are PDF's and sometimes the iBooks app hangs up and won't even load. Wi-Fi works sporadically. 3G is top notch but Wi-Fi isn't picking up as many signals as it used to and I have to yet to successfully connect to any Wi-Fi except one. Many text input / login fields aren't selectable. Due to this certain apps can't even be logged into making them unusable. One app (I'm not sure which) entirely crashed my iPad where I had to plug it up to a computer to get it to boot. The iPad 2 Smart cover seems to randomly unlock the iPad when opening it as opposted to taking you to the screen to enter your password. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
revanmj Posted June 20, 2011 Share Posted June 20, 2011 On my iPod touch 4 Wi-Fi stops working (doesn't show any network, "wait" circle is spinning forever) after some time (usually around 24 hours). On my iPhone 4, it really runs great, at least from what you can expect from a first Beta. Many seem to forget that. And the battery is not really notably worst. Sure, when I get home in the evening, it might not be 30 anymore but 20 but hell who cares... Battery life is a lot worst on my iPhone 4 than it has ever been. iTunes 10.5 on Windows 7 64 bit is horrible. I know its only beta 1, just stating there needs to be a lot of work carried out to get this thing stable. There has been a lot of changes under the hood of iOS this time round. But a lot of people seem to expect that everything works like it has in a stable 4. It doesn't. Running iTunes on W7 explains a little bit. :D the last time I used iTunes on Windows was iTunes 6 or something on XP so I can't generally state something here but from what I've heard, iTunes on Windows is a mess anyways.
