GüntherJung
When i turned on my computer and go to my BIOS i saw a padlock in the top right on my screen in the changeble fields in my BIOS.When i hit enter i says that i must go to security -> unlock system and then to type the admin password. I haven't set an administrator password at all. Please help. Removing the CMOS don't work. I've read before time that the passwords (there are two on the dell latitude d610 - admin and system, but i don't have a system password(for now)) are stored in a NVRAM in the BIOS chip. Please help. I can't even boot from a CD from the boot menu. I think i can when i remove the HDD, but when you reinstall an OS you need to put the OS somewhere. PS: Before time i have disassembled my laptop and from then i earn an error for setting the time and date, because the CMOS is not connected. It is, but it don't touch the metal on the motherboard, because there isn't enough from this metal (sorry that i call it metal. I don't know how it is called in english. Google translator says that it is called tino, but i am not sure.)
+LogicalApex MVC Posted June 28, 2011 MVC Share Posted June 28, 2011 I'm going to have to recommend you contact Dell. Too often these requests are from laptop theives or people who buy such stolen goods and have no idea how to unlock them.
