guitmz
Hi! I wonder if anyone here can help me... I have a iPod Touch 3G (iOS 3.1.3) and I want to update to 4.3.3... My question is does anyone have the same iPod as mine and did this update? Did it slowed down the iPod or it runs fine? Thanks!
DeadEndAccount
Hi!I wonder if anyone here can help me... I have a iPod Touch 3G (iOS 3.1.3) and I want to update to 4.3.3... My question is does anyone have the same iPod as mine and did this update? Did it slowed down the iPod or it runs fine? Thanks! Sorry for the double post, plz remove this one I've noticed now slow down - there was reports at one stage that one of the very early 4.x builds there was noticeable slow downs and battery drainage but that has pretty much been fixed up with 4.3.3. As for 5.0 - assuming all things are consistent, the improvements in LLVM that have appeared with Xcode to be shipped with Lion should also translate into iOS 5.0 being better optimised for ARM processors as well. guitmz
No slow down then? Great! I'm planing to update my jailbroken 3.1.3 soon since some apps needs 4.0+ fw to work now. But since not so much RAM and proc speed on 3G I wanted to know the opinion of someone who already did that :)

alexalex
Why not try : http://www.whited00r.com/ Whited00r is a replacement firmware for the iPhone 2G and 3G (as well as iPod touch 1G and 2G) that's designed specifically for aging iOS devices. It's exactly like iOS, except it's optimized to run fast on old devices while also introducing many of the features old iPhones can't get from the most recent iOS updates. Among other features, Whited00r supports: Multitasking Folders Homescreen wallpaper Battery percentages MMS Bluetooth and USB tethering Tap-to-focus camera Emoji Video recording Essentially Whited00r offers a ton of upgrades to old iOS devices without the serious slowdowns you'll experience if you try upgrading to iOS 4. (Which isn't even an option, depending on how old your device is.) Whited00r devices are also jailbroken out of the box
guitmz
Well my device is supported by iOS 4.3.3 so I dont need this FW... Anyway its a nice alternative for 2G owners! EDIT: I don't need and I can't use it 'cause I have a 3rd generation iPod and whited00r doesnt supports it.
kevpan815
Hello guitmz, although I don't own a 3rd Gen IPod Touch, I do own an IPhone 3GS and it slowed down at first when I installed Apple IOS 5.0 (I am a registered apple developer) but that problem has gone away now.
