Because Apple is narcissistic? Although whatever Apple makes hardly means anything about whether money can be made on a platform or not, they actually did sell Shake for Linux up until when the product was finally discontinued for all platforms Other companies like Discreet, SideFX or Autodesk are still selling professional software for Linux.
