Media Player in Windows 8

Currently there's only WMP 12 from Windows 7 and no changes. But when we get to Beta/RC we should get Immersive Music/Video/Photos applications and hopefully WMP 14 turned into Zune.

Yeah, and remember this is only meant for Developers to start building apps. So we have to wait for the best UI. As it's annoying having to switch to legacy UI to change songs in WMP. Even on dual-screens if I click change song my main screen switches :/.

yah think they'd have a little media player in the corner like CAD or the little miniplayer you get with zune for that. that would be a good idea.

or you can position it on the bottom of the metro screen and have a neat progress bar on the bottom.

Or even WPM turned into Zune turned into Xbox Music / Video? Could be so, depending on how you read into the screenshots from Major Nelson.

Personally I like the idea of 'Xbox' becoming Microsoft's media brand. They've been the same division for years anyway.
