I'm wondering if you can do anything with them transparency wise or have something like themes for them since it seems the desktop tiles color changes though the metro app tiles have some preset color of their own. Transparency is technically possible with them. I haven't tried it though. I have messed with the transparencies a little. on metro start background the alpha (FF) of hex value i changed to 17, it made the center transparent but not the top and bottom green mosaic. I thought it was just a matter of changing the FF alpha value. My question is how did you change green mosaic to purple tiles? I would like to make something similar with transparency! The image I added in shsxs.dll > PNG > 5231 and 5232.png is transparent so the background color shows behind it. Those images are opaque by default. Those images are opaque by default. Thanks. the transparency does not work that well. when scrolling the previous buffer frame is still displayed. Any idea on if a transparent theme is possible? I think maybe you can try to make the top/bottom part as if it's "fading" into the middle, Panda X did it quite nicely and looks more natural. can you get rid of the black bar behind the tiles??? If you do not see the tiles move on your end, It is probably because it is disabled. If you want it move while scrolling, then you need to enable it. The Start logo and the login name stay still. His quote (I should have edited it to just that line) was that why is Metro so lacking and incomplete. That's because it's a DP, room to improve.
