Music app from IceCreamSandwich

A new Google Music apk (4.0.1) has reportedly been pulled from Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus which also means that it was built specifically for Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). The hints of ICS are all over it, but most noticeably from the color scheme which has turned cyan-blue. It also feels much more polished than previous builds.

Download: Music2.apk

*Note 1 – It is recommended that you uninstall your current Google Music before installing this one.

*Note 2 – If you want to sync with your Google Music account, you will have to head into Settings>Applications>Manage Apps> and then “Clear Data” on the app. Should work after that.

Been using this one since yesterday, setup my own GAPPS when i flashed to CyanogenMod. Loving it so far, definitely an improvement over the other old one.

Tried this the other day and it's a notable improvement in both features, speed and ui than the honeycomb version that also leaked. Look forward to ICS rolling out :)

One thing I would like though is some better widgets for the stock music player!

I have been using it for nearly a week now. It is great, I also have the G+ app, the Nexus Prime boot animation, and the Market app from ICS

saw this last week... Do they still have "available offline" option? see screenshot below(Image on the right) and the option seems to be missing.

make available offline is a nice feature that saves me some bandwidth.

i think "available offline" option is different than what you were trying to achieve.

If you make an album or a song "available offline" it would download the songs to your phone/tablet and you don't need internet to play those songs.

Once you clear the application cache it fixes all the issues i have heard most people having with it

I have not had it crash, i never save for offline so i will test that and edit my post.

I could not find the option to download, however, there is an option to cache all streamed music.

Not a problem... :) That feature saved me a lot of bandwidth and its a cool feature...

better than copying musics manually to phone and it keeps my music collection synced across devices.

Hopfully they don't remove it....

You can tell it to only sync/download music when on a wifi connection

yup i have done that in the setting.... Google music deletes the caches every few days to free memory so it will re-download the music when you try to play it again.

Available offline option avoids that issue which would save bandwidth....

I would install it and check it myself after going home...

i wish more news would leak about the tablet apps and what not. all the iCS news is about the phones.

I get the feeling ICS is gonna be more of the same for Tablet owners, alot of the changes seem to be bringing alot of the stuff from Honeycomb over to phones. I'm sure Tablets will get some love too but my gut feeling is this more of a phone centric update (as that seems to be where most of the changes are taking place). That is my 2 cents, take with a grain of salt.

That's a pity.. :/

:ermm: - it says you can force it to only use wifi or use 3G too if you want to. By default it only uses wifi but if you have unlimited data or something you can let it download off 3G all day long if you wish.

Ah, that's fine then! It's a brilliant application certainly :)
