Font looks weird in IE/Opera/Chrome, looks normal in Firefox

Recommended Posts

I don't have an answer for you, but I figured I'd let you know that the font looks the same to me in Firefox, Chrome, and IE. I'm on Windows 7 with no additional fonts besides what Office 2007 might have installed.

It looks like a mix between DirectWrite and GDI Classic font rendering. Are you using the default settings for each browser?

Here's how it looks on my end. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x86 with default settings for Firefox, Chrome, and IE. I also have ClearType enabled.

Mine on Win7 X64 all look pretty similar (some slight differences in spacing, but thats about it from what I can tell). I'm running at standard DPI, no zooming, no Cleartype. Your IE9 rendering definitely looks weird. IE9 does try to use directx to render (as should firefox), so perhaps a video driver upgrade could help.

Win7 x64 here as well. Yea everything is default except for firefox where I have Hardware Acceleration off. I do have fonts installed but I have no idea which one would be the culprit.

Here's how it looks on firefox:

And it looks like this in the other browsers:

As you can see, they aren't leveled and have weird size issues.

The site that I used for this example http://www.indiegogo...-Nerd-The-Movie

The second image: the font is installed in your system. I have seen that font before not sure the name of it. Almost like a kid based font. You said that the font has weird font size issues but it is actually not. That font is installed on your system by one of your program you installed.

Looks fine for me too I'm using opera 11.51 on win7 Ultimate x64

you haven't been playing with making your fonts larger in display settings have you I know this happens when I used Medium 125% font sizing instead of standard 100% (default size)
