Andriod Cut And Paste, How

I wish to put my Network password in phone settings but i need to cut and paste it in as its too large,

Ive dropped a .txt file in my android, opened it, but cant figure how cut and paste works.

double tap the word with your finger, it should highlight it. select cut/copy from the top, then go to wherever, and click your finger on a blank spot and (maybe long tap it or double tap it, don't remember) and then hit paste.

I've had the same issue. It's very unintuitive.

Press and hold on the text. You should get a popup that will let you select word/all./paste Then you can hit cut/copy.
