I'll always buy the boxed version as long as they are available as I prefer to actually hold the product. Holding my HDD isn't quite the same :p. Plus downloading from online is too slow. It will take me a good 4 hours to download a game from steam, but if I but the game it will only take me 10 at most to install!

The only exception to the above it in the crazy steam and origin sales!

Tie for the keyboard and mouse.

If it's music, I prefer a physical CD so I can grab the FLAC. If the FLAC is available to download, then digital ;)

Most of my games are retro (IE, over 5 years old, some over 10), but I rarely play them. When I do, I do for a few weeks.

YES the most important thing to me when PC gaming is that I can wear a Tie :D

On the retro side though I would have to list out some favorites:

Chaos

Theme Hospital - Thanks CorsixTH!

Fallout

I love me some classics :D

Retro gaming...GTA3 & GTA:VC, Morrowind, Wizardry 8, NFS: UG and NFS:UG2....if you consider any of these "retro", they are what runs well on my laptop.

Really Retro... I have the Zelda series and emulators.

Still play the retro games occasionally.. Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale are excellent even today, Freespace off and on, Fallout, Planescape, etc etc. Got a pretty heavy set of emulated games as well that I still play off and on (MAME, consoles, etc) easily filled up a terabyte with emulators alone. High end graphics don't automatically make a game great.

As far as the controls go, depends on the game of course. As long as the game was designed properly and not one of those "lazy console ports", hate it when developers do that.

Medium I'll usually go digital, don't think I've bought a physical disc for quite some time, but I'm not picky.

Ha ha, GTA 3 isn't exactly retro though :p

A short list:

Zoo Tycoon 1

Beach Life

C&C Generals

Hogs of War (this one doesn't even use the mouse - keyboard only! baby!)

Settlers 4

Red Alert 3

Monopoly Tycoon

Sid Meier's Pirates

Sid Meier's Railroads

Traffic Giant

I play MMO's so both a physical Keyboard and mouse are equal in importance. I don't really play that many games, I play WoW, Minecraft, and Rift.

I installed DosBox to play a couple retro games:

Simcity 2000

Time Commando

I played them each for like an hour a piece a couple months ago.
