Question
Seizure1990
Between all the random crap that I do on my computer, there are a lot of different things making noises, and it seems like developers are wildly at odds with each other on just how loud your program should be. I've realized that constantly fiddling with the volume knob on my stereo is hopeless, especially when I'm running multiple noise-makers at once, and have gotten into the habit of using the Windows 7 Volume Mixer. However, I still have problems on occasion, mostly with my browser and having to readjust for each different app or website I use on it. The end result is me getting blasted with irritating music or sound effects.
TL;DR: I need an alternative volume mixer to Windows 7's built in one. Things I dislike/am missing from MS's solution:
- Their window is big and inefficient. I'm sure that there are programs out there which are more compact, but just as/more powerful
- I would like a CAP option. Something I can configure, to tell my computer not to let the volume level ever go past a certain point, regardless of what a program may be trying to do. Is this possible?
- If it had profiles and such, for when I'm trying to be quiet, vs when nobody is home, that would be nice too.
Thanks in advance
