I live in the UK, it's against the law to have a gun unless properly licensed (or near enough!).

After reading the post about the guy who shot himself, someone suggested they keep a gun on them, but it isn't loaded. What's the point in that?

I guess I just find it strange that you can walk around with a gun in some countries and nobody seems to care.

EDIT: I don't understand some people. Someone voted "yes" no Q1, then voted "I don't own one, don't want one" in Q3 :blink:

Your poll confuses me with respect to the last part.

My views:

* I have nothing against people owning guns (I like to go shooting with my shotgun).

* Guns should be licensed.

* Guns should be keps separate to ammunition and in a safe locker.

* Carrying a gun outside the designated sporting areas should require a further license.

* Carrying a gun outside the designated sporting areas should not be loaded.

* Carrying a gun outside the designated sporting areas should not be concealed.

I own more than one. Anyone that obtains a CCW is trained on the proper use of a weapon. Training should also be on what happens after one uses the weapon.

I own a few guns.

Anyone who thinks it should be illegal is insane, IMO.

Use at least one of them almost year around. Just got out of woods deer hunting, in fact. Early, I know, but I got one yesterday. Really wanted to go to a different spot today, but brother in law wanted to go where we went to.

Do not have a concealed weapons permit but know how to use one properly. All THAT really requires is common sense though. Of course, that's a BIG TIME rare commodity in people any more! :(

about a year ago i woke up in the middle of the night because i heard someone in the house,so i put some pants on and grabed my shotgun.as i was leaving bedroom there was a guy with a knife standing there.i shoved the 12 gauge in his face.he took off runnin later when the cops had me go see if it was him they told me he was strung out on meth and had been telling his buddies he was going to kill us because he thought we were going to turn him in .so yea i think everyone should have a gun in the house.

I wasn't talking about my friends. I travel in a bubble of mostly university educated people. I was talking about the slice of life people I meet outside of my own circles.
