Spartak Gogniev Assaulted

I'm surprise no security is there to stop this brutality.

He now suffers several broken ribs, a concussion, and a broken nose.

Fifpro urges Fifa and Uefa to act over Spartak Gogniev assault

The players' representative body is demanding that the game's ruling authorities take a stand on the case of the Russian midfielder, who was attacked during a reserve game

Fifpro has urged Fifa and Uefa to intervene in the Russia Federation?s (RFS) handling of the assault of Spartak Gogniev during a recent reserve game.

The Krasnodar captain was left needing surgery after being on the receiving end of two separate attacks following his dismissal against Terek Grozny on November 4.

Gogniev, who had pushed the referee before leaving the field of play, was first assaulted by people on the sideline before being beaten with batons by men dressed in police uniforms after he had escaped to the player?s tunnel.

The former Russia international, who suffered cracked ribs, concussion and a broken nose, was subsequently banned for six games and fined ?1,200 by the RFS for his role in the incident.

Terek, meanwhile, landed a fine of ?12,000, while their reserve coach and administrator both received a 12-month bans from the game. The club was also ordered to play their next two games at a different venue.

Fifpro, though, is demanding that further punishments be dished out to those involved in the assault on Gogniev.

"Fifa and Uefa must deal with this," Dejan Stefanovic, spokesman of Fifpro?s Task Force Eastern Europe, said in a statement released by the players? representative body.

"We will show Fifa?s and Uefa?s Secretary Generals and the members of both Executive Committees a video of the incident, because this incident and the way the Russian Federation has handled Gogniev?s case need to be discussed by the Executive Committees of both Fifa and Uefa.

"These Executive Committees must also force their bodies to come into action.

"Fifpro cannot accept this ruling," the statement continued. "A player was beaten up and the club who might be held responsible was only mildly sanctioned. The Russian Federation showed how little respect it has for players' rights."

Football fans are the same everywhere, they are the worst kind of fanatics imho. And this happened in Chechnya...

Sport is supposed to unite the people, but it only causes more division.
