Bummer they had to go with the zombie like genre though. That gets old. But day one still for me.

I'm really hoping that they bring back a similar atmosphere akin to that of the original Resident Evils' where you actually did feel fear. I think if anyone can make this work and feel complete Naughty Dog are the guys, their story telling is amazing, as is their cinematics, graphically if it uses the UC3 engine it's going to be a looker.

Agreed. And just to confirm, everything shown on the trailer was using the in-game engine, so not sure if it is the UC3 engine or not, but it is already proven to be a looker. (Y)

And it's pretty much a future movie starring Ellen Page and Hugh Jackman/Viggo Mortensen.

BTW, this isn't just "Naughty Dog", but a new seperate team within the company; not only that, but the team leads were the same ones from Uncharted 2. And anything Amu Hennig touches is gold.

Yeah, this has now shot to the top of my most anticipated games for the PS3 and there's very little details on it

Naughty Dog say The Last Of Us is a love story, not a zombie game – and insist that they’re not even going for horror…

Very few details of The Last Of Us, the new Naughty Dog game revealed at the VGA’s over the weekend, have yet emerged. What we did seem to know is that it’s a game with zombies in it – certainly the trailer showed them hunting the game’s pair of lead characters. Yet the developer insists that The Last Of Us is not a zombie game. It’s not even a horror game, they say.

“[It's] not a zombie game,” said game director Bruce Straley.

“If the game was about the monsters, we would have not showed them [in the trailer],” added creative director Neil Druckmann. ”The story’s not about them, so [we thought] let’s get it out of the way.”

Insisting that “we’re not going for horror,” Druckmann said the game is instead a sort of love story – “not a romantic love story,” but “a love story about a father-daughter-like relationship.”

And speaking in a lengthy feature on Eurogamer, Druckmann admitted that the now-infamous Dead Island trailer had the team at Naughty Dog a little worried. “We saw it and we thought, wait a minute, someone else is doing this – it’s really moving, there’s this family that’s been torn apart.” It’s probably safe to assume that ND were pleased with the action-centric direction Dead Island ultimately took.

Thought as much, it's ND, they are one of the premier story tellers in games this gen.

it may not be a zombie-centric game, but there will be zombies or cannibalistic somethings. hell, ND, for some reason, had to put zombies and evil monsters into both Uncharted games. i havent played the 3rd but im sure its there.

are people not tired of post-apocalyptic zombie-type games yet?
