So for some reason it looks like there are a few popular apps in the Android Market for $0.10 today...

I picked up Minecraft and also Paper Camera ... purchases went through and downloaded to my phone.

This is awesome. Got in on Sketchbook, paper camera, fieldrunners, and sports tracker pro. The top of my main market page says "10 Days of Offers, Top Premium Apps, 10cents per App"

This is an awesome deal. I picked up Sound Hound, Endomondo, Great Little War Game, Fieldrunners HD and Paper Camera. Not bad for $0.50.

Oh wow, cool! I'm checking these out now.

I'm relatively new to the Android scene--will the apps show for me in the market even if they don't work on my device? Or do I get to find out the hard way :laugh:

An app won't show up if it's author has made it so in the manifest (tricks like version, screen size, manual exclusion).

Your "droid you were looking for" probably supports everything anyway, don't worry :p

As for apps actually working or not: everything has at least an equal probability to crash and burn regardless of being supported until it doesn't. Hard way? (Read this in the Emperor's voice) It is unavoidable. It is your destiny.

I downloaded Asphalt, Minecraft, and Swiftkey X to my HP Touchpad. Mincraft works fine, Asphalt - despite showing as compatible on the marketplace - says it's incompatible when you start it and exits. Can't get a refund because the silly 15 minute window was closed. Swiftkey works although it recommends I change to the Tablet version which doesn't even show up in the marketplace for me.

Now, on to day 2. :)

why do some games appear as "not compatible" w/ my device? specifically - Brothers in Arms 2 and Asphalt 6? i have an HTC Rezound, btw. thanks

May be because they need a certain graphics processor to work, i.e. nVidia Tegra.

Both of those games works for me on my Desire HD, so they don't require Nvidia tegra or some special gpu.
