I7 2600 Processor based Computer

Anybody using a Desktop Computer with I7 2600 Processor or any other I7 processor ?

Is it really good as hyped ?

In case yes, how much RAM you are using and how much your board supports ?

i7 2600 and i7 2600K are the best mainstream/enthusiastic processors money can buy (below 500 USD)

Yes, they are as as good as hyped.

The interface uses dual channel memory so 4 GB, 8GB, at minimum, will be good for it

I recently built a i7 2600k machine, it really is as quick as the claims, currently i have it easily sitting with a clock up to 4.8Ghz on air cooling (multiplier unlocked and sitting at x48) ~ with 5 Degree increase in idle and load temps.

8Gb of ddr3 (Mushkin DDR3 2133) on an Asus Z68 pro mobo.

Came from a Q6600 and 4Gb of DDR2, whole different ballgame, turns out the q66/Ram was bottlenecking my 570GTX in BF3, didnt expect that!

Grab a 2600k while you can, they overclock with a couple of clicks (esp on the Asus Z68 boards) and are the same price (give or take a few pounds) as a non-K series...so a no brainer tbh.

No kidding they exceed all the hype.
