Hard Drive Monitoring Tool?

Every now and then my hard drive goes active, and it slows my system down a bit, it doesn't coincide with any spike in CPU or RAM usage, so I'm not sure what program is causing it. I'm looking for a tool that monitors the hard drive, showing which files get accessed when, or some other function that'll track when heavy HD access happens. Is there such a thing?

You can use the Windows Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).

Go to View -> Select Columns, Tick I/O Read Bytes and I/O Write Bytes, then press on Ok and sort by them. You'll know which process is writing/reading the most.
