GRANBURY, TX (CBSDFW.COM) - A husband in Hood County wound up behind bars after getting into a fight with his wife, all because he failed to give her a Christmas present.

David Lewis Turnock was arrested by deputies late Tuesday night at the couple's home, located along Linden Court, in the Pecan Plantation development outside of Granbury.

The 47-year-old husband is accused of assaulting his 53-year-old wife, twisting her wrists and breaking her watch. A spokesman for the Hood County Sheriff's Office reported that the couple got into an argument over the fact that Turnock did not buy his wife a present this Christmas.

my ex wife was bit violent to me too, one night happened the same way, she was going all crazy on me, hitting and scratching, trying to stop her i grabbed her arm and i guess her wrist got twisted. Guess what, she called the cops but when they got there and saw my marks on me, they didn't charge. Some women think they can get away with violence just because they are girls. Its hard to even defend yourself without getting in trouble.

I have been on the receiving end of a crackpot woman attacking me, first threw a phone charger off my head, smashed a big vodka bottle off the back of my head, then grabbed the house phone off the wall and laced into my face with it, no idea how the argument started or what it was over, but turns out she was taking anti-psychotic medication (Which made sense)

Only way to escape the house was to push her over the side of the sofa (Landing on the sofa) and out the front door - I was sitting at the bus stop dripping with blood gathering my thoughts and the police pulled up, opened their window, shouted across "Had a fight with the missus have you?" Covered in blood I said Erm yea, they laughed and drove off !

Imagine if it had been the other way around.

In a lot of States it is the norm to always arrest the husband in cases of domestic abuse, no matter who is really at fault

With new surveys confirming ER docs observations that battered husbands are a higher percentage of abused spouses than presumed things are changing.

There's definitely a lot of whacked out women out there.

it also has to do with the fact that men are less likely to report abuse...

I remember watching an episode of cops once, there was a couple at the beach, the women started attacking the man and he hit back, the police came, and had him in cuffs, she was going to go free till a guy came up and said he was just defending him self
