Question

Hello,

In the preceding Definitive Best Antivirus 2011 message thread, there were requests to seperate the commercial and free antivirus products. For 2012, I have created two separate polls. This is the poll for the commercial (paid-for) antivirus programs. For free antivirus, please see the Definitive Best Free Antivirus 2012 message thread.

Questions or comments? Post them here in the message thread.

Regards,

Aryeh Goretsky

I always had AVAST but now when I got ESET, I don't wanna go back.

AVAST has been less cluttered with last new UI but still is very overdone etc, what I like about ESET is the clean and straight forward UI which is not too 'fancy'.

(It would be nice to have the ESET smart security popups look more integrated and part of windows)

Trend Micro, been using it since 2006 and been very happy. Have tried others; McAfee (burn it with fire!) and Norton (which is really good now) but I find Trend Micro best.

I don't think it matters any more. The damage has been done and Symantec's reputation is permanently ruined for a lot of people.

I think people need to be more open minded, and im sure not everyone feels this way. "windows ME" anyone? i think people are still using windows.

nice thread, give us all a idea of whats about and what people are using.

Norton 2012 is pretty good. I was one of the people who absolutely hated Norton after what they did back in the day with the bloat, but after trying 2011/2012 I changed my mind.

Bit Defender Hands-Down. In fact, I bought it for my company and got 5 free license keys. I have 2 left, PM me if you want one.

I just bought Kaspersky Pure, as my KIS license had one day left, but I would not use anything else! I also have the full version of malware bytes running. Also to be fair, Malwarebytes is not technically a anti-virus program...

Is it just me or is Norton straight up not in that list?

It is there under Symantec/PC Tools/Norton
