ps3 PS3 XMB & PlayStation Store Font Size

How do you increase the font size on the PS3 XMB and in the PlayStation Store?

I know you can change the font to two another (but VERY similar) font styles but not the size itself.

This seems very strange to me that Sony, with all of their wealth and wisdom have chosen not to offer more controls for how disabled people use their products.

I am guessing, if they even bother to perform a usability study of their PS3 product, they have very young kids with good eyesight sit directly infront of their text TV sets, and not test older people with poor or failing eyesights who sit the correct distance away from the TV.

unforunately the xmb hasn't significantly changed or improved since launch

About all you could do would be to switch the display res so that it's at the lowest possible by manually disabling the higher resolutions. It'll make it physically bigger but no where near as crisp of course (think it only applies to the XMB and not games, but haven't tested this).

It will apply to every output in the PS3. But it shouldn't make a difference since most games run on 720p anyway. If some game ran in 1080p natural (like GT5) then it would be forced to run in 720p but for everything else you wouldn't notice a difference.

The XMB has been pretty much the same since it was first introduced on the old PSX. There are themes you can download to modify the look and feel, and you can also make your own theme. I've never done it so I'm not sure what amount of control you have over things like fonts, but check it out.

completely agree that you should be able to change font size...seems a pretty weird oversight for all these years
