A Chicago man survived after being carjacked at gunpoint, shot three times, and dumped in the trunk of his own car, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday. The 24-year-old man managed to escape from the trunk and seek help during the incident about 9:30 p.m. local time Monday, Chicago police said. He was shot at least three times in the chest when up to four men tried to steal his car. The attackers put the man into the trunk of his own vehicle and drove through two neighborhoods with him in the car, the newspaper reported. He escaped and alerted authorities, and was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition. The man's vehicle was later discovered on fire. No arrests have been made.
