Looking for a way to turn off my 3GS screen

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I've JB'd my iPhone 3GS and installed AirServer to allow for some AirPlay audio streaming to my home entertainment center. It works great, but I have a problem. AirServer only works with the app running and the iPhone on. It stops working if I "lock" the phone and turn off the screen.

I tried to install Backgrounder thinking if I put AirServer in the background, then maybe I can turn off the screen. Backgrounder just doesn't work apparently on 5.0.1 and crashes the springboard if it is enabled.

Does anyone know of a way to turn off the screen on my 3GS while keeping AirServer running? I would like it if I could keep AirServer running all the time, but I do not want the screen on the 3GS on all the time as I think this may shorten the life of the screen.

Thanks for your input.
