I played the Demo on Steam and I have to say the game is actually rather fun even though in the demo at least the only challenge there was was knowing the jump distance and not missing a ledge. The puzzles themselves were VERY simple (I think it might have been a tutorial zone meant to have no challenges but to introduce how the game functioned.)

I think some of the simplicity of the puzzles is that you can only move certain cubes, so the location of all the puzzle elements are immediately shown, its just up to you to figure out how to use them. A game like portal though, you can put portals on so many different surfaces that while the elements are known, it often takes looking around (to see where you can put portals) and more precise action than whats required in Qube. I have not play Qube myself though, so perhaps it changes in later levels, but from the video it seems pretty simply and just a matter of trial and error to get things right (whereas trial and error would take forever in Portal, or even lead to unique ways of solving the puzzles).

Gotta say, that game looks REAL easy.

I don't see how it's a portal wannabe though.

Portal Wannabe mostly because of level design and that it is a platform puzzle game not much else.

It apparently gets A LOT more difficult.
