Man found passed out from 12 beers while his home burns

NICEVILLE ? A 52-year-old man was found passed out in his home in a room filled with smoke.

According to the Niceville Police call history, the man told officers he had consumed around 12 beers before falling asleep and was unaware that there was fire inside his home.

Firefighters were able to get into the man's unlocked home and found him lying on his couch, unresponsive.

The report states that first responders believe the fire started in the microwave in the kitchen. The fire was extinguished and the man was given medical attention.

The man was recorded as having a .333 blood alcohol level.
