I actually have not used my 360 all that much the past few months, but recently it has been giving me connection issues. Over the course of the last month the few times I have fired it up has been hit or miss with connecting to Live without any issues.Specifically two times in this past week, both times I have launched my 360, it failed to connect to XBox Live.
The first time, which was about a week ago it actually never connected. I tried about 5 hours later and it finally connected.
The next second time, which was yesterday, it did not connect at all. I waited about 45 minutes, would still not connect. I then ran an Internet Connection test, and then it connected once I ran the test?
My settings for my 360 have been the same for literally years now even though I have had multiple 360's thanks to the RROD on 2 out of 4 systems. But literally going back to when it was released, I have my manual settings in a Word Doc that I just refer to and setup. I checked to make nothing sure had changed with the settings, and they are still the same as they always have been. I have a static IP setup which ties into settings on my router for that IP. All settings are untouched.
I also did check the router, and nothing has changed. Also the two times it has happened, I check my PS3, Wii, and TV, all of which are hooked up to the same router the 360 is, and they all connect no issues at all. I also have tried other wires and other ports on the router thinking maybe just somehow it was a faulty port, and same results. All other devices connect, 360 does not.So have there been known issues with Live? Has there been any known issues with the latest updated? Or worse, is something possibly up with my 360's hardware?
I found this topic on the Xbox forums
, but I am not buying that at all as again, no settings have changed on my router or on the 360 literally for years now. No new hardware has been added into my home setup recently either. So really just wondering if others have been experiencing connection issues and/or do I possibly have to call support to see what if anything can be done. This is a relatively newer console but it is over a year old, and they only offered the 3 year warranty on older models correct? Or did they extend that to all models?
TIA for any insight or help.
