I need a gaming mouse most for FPS games such as BF3. I've never bought one before, so far i've only used standard mice, and office mice.

I've read many many many reviews, but it seems like the people suggested and reviewing mice, havent tried both, and are just kids being kids online.

I really like the razer brand, i've held one of their mice a while back and loved out it formed to my hand, i think that was an older deathadder, not sure.

So i was thinking about getting the Razer Naga. I just love the way it looks, and the extra buttons would be nice even though i dont play games like WOW. But i read that you can bind them to do really anything in any game. But now i started to turn away from it.

The deathadder is an older mouse, but a while back they released a newer version called deathadder Black edition. So mouse i can pick up for around $49 shipped online.

But i'm also looking at this newer mouse which is the Imperator. It has a dual 4g sensor which is optical and the other is laser i believe, and gives you the best traction. It also seems smaller than the deathadder, but some say its much nicer over all in its design. I also read that even though it has a dual sensor, the deathadder is still more accurate, but like i said, most of these people saying get the deathadder havent even touched the latest version of the Imperator.

I can get the Imperator shpped from $69.

Imperator has a max DPI of 6400 while the DeathAdder black is maxed at 3500dpi. Not sure if this matters much before the i doubt i'll ever need even 3500dpi.

I'm also still thinking about the Naga, man i love the way this mouse looks, and i can get it shipped for $69.

Stay away from Razer they are made incredibly cheap for how much they cost and their customer support is ****. Look into a Logitech G500 or G700.

People will say Razer is fine but I've used no less than five top end razer mice and every single one of them had a serious defect or died within 6 months of buying them. On the other hand, I've owned quite a few top end logitech mice and they are still all working like a charm with no issues.

Also if you still insist on going with a razer mouse dont buy it from the razer store, buy from Amazon or newegg.

I read many posts by people who said the same thing, but there were just as many who said they had razer mice for years and they still work great.
But i do think there is something to that, because people who have left positive reviews and love the mice have said that they seem cheaply built.

i love how the razer mice form to the hand, i don't really see this in any Logitech mice, they just look huge.

but i was thinking about the Logitech G9x. Do you have any opinions on that?

I think for this mouse i'm going to buy from TigerDirect. I usually buy from Newegg, but tigerdirect seems to have the lowest price on all the mice i've looked into, with no tax, and free shipping. I havent used TD before, but they seem decent.

I'm using a Razer mouse because it's the only one "ergonomically" shaped for lefties I could find, but I have to agree with Trag3dy, the build quality is awful (and I've owned five or so of them). There is Steelseries which I'd recommend over Razer any day, look into them as well?

I did look at the Steelseries such as the Xai, but they really just look like normal mice to me. I don't see any real grooves or anything that'll say they'll fit better in my hands. Just look round, and standardized like the mice i already have.

I've had the DeathAdder 3500 DPI mouse for 2+ years, and it is a great mouse. I had the MX518 before, but it decided to die after 2 years. I love the scroll wheel detents, the tracking is great, the mouse feet are good. The only complaint I have (and it's not a problem for me) is that there is a lack of on the fly sensitivity control. With the MX518, there used to be 2 buttons near the scroll wheel where you can change DPI. With the Deathadder, the button is on the underside of the mouse, which is such an odd placement. Like I said, not a problem for me, but if you need that feature, then it could be a no-go on that mouse.

I will say Logitech does make OK products, but they are far overrated. I've never had a brand whose computer peripherals broke earlier than Logitech. The MX518 lasted the longest for me.

Would you say the DeathAdder forms to your hand much better than the logitech mice did?
If a mouse lasts 2 years i'll say thats a good investiment, i wouldnt want it to last forever.

My current mouse (dell studio xps laser mouse) has DPI switching on it and i never use that, so its not a needed feature.
thanks for your reply :D

My Logitech G500 is no bigger than a deathadder or any other razer mouse for what it's worth.

I've had a deathadder (one that died within 6 months) and I loved the shape and feel of it. The shape of the G500 is actually pretty close to it however and trumps it in every possible feature.

Do you have any opinions on the G9x?
i don't think i can go wrong with this one, yes its double the price of the ones you listed, but it has plates that you can switch to form to your hand size :p

I have a G9 (not x) and I like it quite a bit but none of the grips felt all that great to me. That comes down to preference I guess. The square one is for people who play with a more claw grip style, and there is a rouneded one for people who palm their mouse, which is what I used. It didn't feel quite as comfortable as either the deathadder or G500 though.

Just my opinion though, your experience may differ. I will say this though, I liked the buttons on my G9 more than any other mouse I've used so far.

Yes, it does form to my hand very well. For normal day to day tasks, the palm grip on this mouse feels great. For gaming, I tend to switch to claw grip, and it is pretty good for that too. I definitely find it more comfortable than any Logitech mouse I've ever used (MX-518, my friend's G500, and a couple others). If you can visit a store (or friends) that have both Razer and Logitech mice, definitely hit them up, and see which fits you better. It is all subjective after all :)

I currently own the DeathAdder 3500 dpi version, and previously owned the Copperhead.

Never ever have I touched a more sexy device! :D

Get it, it shouldn't be expensive these days. The performance it is freaking amazing, especially when coupled with the Goliathus mouse pad.

I honestly think razor peripherals are overrated. I have a mamba that was a gift and while it does it's job well, it doesn't do it any better than mice 1/3 the cost. The battery life on it is an absolute joke. New it only got 4-5 hours. Now after having it for about a year the battery only holds a charge for about 2 hours. The charging dock is sitting in a box of pc parts. No point in even trying to use it while not plugged in.

My next mouse will most likely be Logitech. They make great mice. I had one of their wireless mice work better for me than this mouse ever has. I have no intentions of buying razer again. Unless the price comes down a lot.

I doubt i'll ever get a wireless gaming mouse. None of the Razer mice im interested in are weireless, and the razer ones that are having a port to make them wired, so i think it'll be fine in that area.

thanks everyone for the replies.
