Hi, Ive been playing around with the DP of Win8 over the weekend, and although it is nice to see something different I was wondering what the latest leaked build is? Im interested to see how it is progresing and what bugs/features have been fixed/added.

Many Thanks

We'll probably just have to wait for the beta, coming next month.

MS has been enforcing its NDA a lot more strictly this time, even fired a couple of employees that leaked an early pre-alpha build last year. Doubt anyone will take the chance again after that incident and jeopardize their status in the development. The only releases we are going to get our hands on is the official ones.

There's some kind of leak doing the rounds today...

Quote

Scene group *** released Release Candidate 1 (RC1) of the very latest operating system Microsoft Windows 8. This is beyond my own expectations as it’s sooner than I personally expected. Still, I highly recommend everyone to test this first in a VIRTUAL environment before applying it to your WORKING/LIVE environment. I warned you, enjoy!
Description: Windows 8 is the codename for the next version of the Microsoft Windows computer operating system following Windows 7. It has many changes from previous versions. In particular it adds support for ARM microprocessors in addition to the previously supported x86 microprocessors from Intel and AMD. A new Metro-style interface has been added that was designed for touchscreen input in addition to mouse keyboard, and pen input.

Of course I'm not gonna post a link, don't want a ban :)
Don't see how it can be an RC since the beta hasn't even been released but from all reports, it's the same WP build but you can update it to the most recent which they claim is RC1.

MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.RC1.ISO-LZ0

hmmm.. most likely fake..

but they said they where doing away with betas so this could be the "customer preview" and they are just calling it RC1 and made public to everyone.

Currently installing, shows Windows 8 Dev Preview though all the install parts. Using VirtualBox

ISO shows all files modified 8/31/2011 so not sure what is so special about this.. 37% through install

So.. install is done.. it looks like the dev previews, currently installing all the windows updates...

edit, I picked bad settings with first install (virtual box) doing a fresh install for better response.
