Skyrocket is essentially a Galaxy S I, with some extra features, like bigger screen.

From these, I would recommend, Skyrocket.

How about Xperia S?

tell yea the truth Xperia or Sony for that matter never really crossed my mind

The Sony Xperia S is an unreleased and flagship phone that I would think would be priced above the Galaxy S II and more in the Galaxy Nexus range (and so out of your price range)

No, the Skyrocket is essentially the SGS II with LTE (I suspect that was a typo though). However it swaps the Exynos processor from the SGS II for a 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon. It has the same 4.5" SAMOLED Plus screen that you had in your Infuse (I'm an Infuse owner myself). Personally I think the 800x480 resolution is a little low on a 4.5" screen, and would look better on the SGS II at 4.3" (on AT&T, also an SAMOLED Plus, but with higher pixel density). Bad side, very little developer support at all for third party ROMs (if you care), and countless issues that I've heard about. It would be wise to skip this phone.

They are releasing a new Skyrocket HD soon that will have the 4.65" 720p SAMOLED screen from the Nexus soon. It will have a 1.5 GHz dual core CPU as well, and I see no reason to believe it's going to be any different than the Snapdragon in the original Skyrocket, which is a little disappointing, but it should still handle itself well. Being that it will be basically a Galaxy Nexus spec'd phone for AT&T, it may generate a little more support from the developer community, and maybe Samsung (unlike the Infuse did, as you know, and it was a slight upgrade from the SGS I, like the Skyrocket is a slight upgrade from the SGS II).

If I were you I would leave Sony out of your mind still. I'm still not convinced their phones are worth a damn. The new ones certainly look nice, but they typically find a way to disappoint from what I've seen.

The question you have to ask is if LTE is a big deal for you. If so, you wouldn't be interested in the SGS II since it's only HSPA+ and not LTE. If you aren't intersted in LTE, the SGS II is the best phone they offer still. The Vivid looks very lackluster to me. For the last year or so, HTC products have seemed to be of very poor quality to me, mainly in the software side with HTC Sense which has turned into absolute garbage. It's got a qHD screen though, which is a little better than the screen on the SGS II or Skyrocket. The LG Nitro actually seems halfway decent and has the only 720p screen for AT&T right now, plus LTE. It doesn't look like it will ever have a developer community though, so consider that to likely get stuck on mostly stock software for a long time.

Honestly, if I were you, I'd wait for now. There are going to be a few big upgrades to phones in the beginning of this year. 720p screens are becoming standard, and quad core is just around the corner. To pay full price for a phone now may leave you disappointed in a few short months. If cutting edge doesn't matter for you, then the SGS II is probably your best bet (especially out of the 3 you listed). If you want to keep a phone the same size (I personally love the size of the Infuse), I'd highly suggest waiting for the Skyrocket HD and not getting the original Skyrocket.
