darker UIs for graphics gives it the "dim the lights" effect where you pay more attention to the media you are editing rather then the UI.

Have to admit, I like that flat icon a lot more than the "3d-ish" ones they've been using for the past few releases. Still think the feather theme was the best they had, but then again, they're just icons.
