wii Skylanders Spyro's Universe

I just bought this game for my daughter, and I have been trying to figure out if you can play multiplayer on it (we have more then one remote and wish to play with her) does anyone know if this can be done?

Isn't the same as on 360, you just put another skylander on the portal... does that not work

Spyro is badass. I miss playing that game on PS1. :(
