Virtual VOIP Server

Hey all,

I've got a vmware esxi 5 setup here on a DL585 G2 (so disk space, vcpu and vram isnt a problem).

Has anybody ever setup a virtual Asterisk/Trixbox (or other voip server OS) to work with an external sip voip provider for outgoing and incoming calls?

I have Freepbx running in KVM ok,

I've previously run Trixbox and Freepbx on xenserver (not at the same time, moved from trixbox to freepbx)

I did have one running on ESXi but it was a couple years ago and I can't remember if it was trixbox or just asterisk.

They're all asterisk based anyway, only thing to watch out for when running in a VM is that you might run into jitter/ timing issues although i've never noticed an issue myself but then again mine's very lightly loaded.
