Minecraft creator Markus Persson, aka Notch, has stated in his Twitter that Minecraft for Xbox 360 may be arriving in April. In response to a tweet inquiring about the game’s console release date, Notch tweeted: “looking like about April, but I didn’t tell you that.”

Until now, the Xbox version of Minecraft was tentatively scheduled for late winter or early spring this year. Minecraft Xbox 360 will be a chance for Xbox users to enjoy the game on their console, but it may also change the way the Xbox handles updates. You can expect to see more and more of Minecraft as the indie PC game moves on to bigger things like XLBA and, naturally, LEGO Minecraft.

If you can’t get enough of Minecraft, you can keep up to date on all the latest Minecraft news right here on BeefJack.

still not sure how this would play out with a controller instead of mouse+keyboard. looking forward to at least the demo to check out the controls.

Same way youd play any other FPS. Replace the ASDW controls with the left side joystick. Looking around would be right side. The only other controls in the game are right and left click and inventory. The Xbox has more than enough controls/buttons for it. XBox live means voice instead of text for communication.

I prefer this on the Xbox anyway. Can't stand PC gaming, so now I will be able to enjoy this game. Woot!

yea but the mouse provided a pin point control for building. Thats my only concern, I dont want them to dumb down (not sure if thats even possible) for the xbox version.

This will be perfect for the consoles as it doesn't need the power of a PC anyway. Will be getting it for sure, unless the price is ridiculous.

I actually use Xpadder (an awesome controller custom mapper program) and my Xbox controller to play on my PC. Most of the time I find it easier to play.. don't know why but yeah :p

PC gamers usually ask how can a game be played on the Xbox due to keyboard/mouse precision. Hasn't been a problem yet, so I don't see this being a problem either.
