FBI file on Steve Jobs includes drug use, distorted reality
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation on Thursday released a file on the late Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs that includes accounts of interviews with associates who said he was known for distorting the truth and had a history of drug use.
Although hardly secrets to anybody who has read the numerous books and profiles on Jobs over the years, the FBI files have remained secret until now.
They were collected decades ago when Pres. George H.W. Bush was considering Jobs for an appointment to the Export Council. The FBI interviewed a number of people who knew or worked with Jobs.
The records were released due to a Freedom of Information Act Request and because Jobs is no longer alive.
