Does anyone know how to stop youtube from jacking up the quality on my videos?

I'm not sure if its the format im saving them in, or if its just something youtube does.

i've tried both HD mp4, and mpg, but still it does it.

the videos are fine before they are uploaded to youtube.

I would use FLV but corel videostudio pro exports crappy quality FLV files.

The quality is pixelated, and weirdness.

I just tried to post a video we made on our MC server, and you can see what youtube did to it:

Does anyone know how to prevent this?

If you are wanting to create a HD video file to upload to youtube, export the video in the h.264 codec into a .mp4 or .mov wrapper.
I generally match the bitrate to the original source files, and then allow YouTube to drop it down into its own requirements. I'm not sure if their proccess gives you the best quality, but I have always been happy with the results.

my files are usually fine, its youtube that screws them up.
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 30 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 5000 Kbps
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 160 Kbps

My video is fine on Vimeo

I just read that youtube has an https uploader that resolves these problems, i'll check that out.

edit:
k the https uploader seemed to have resolved my problems

woot

the uploader looks the same, but some same it handles files differently to prevent corruption.
