Halo 2 (Vista, Win 7)

The game is currently $14 US @ Amazon and it is still worth every penny.

I grew tired of BF3, among others, much quicker than I expected and ended up installing one of my favorite games of all time and damn am I thankful that I did. There is still a wonderful community of online PC players and playing this classic title in all it's HD glory has been a nostalgic blast for me. I've been playing it with a 360 for windows controller, works like a charm.

To me, no game has ever matched the fun level of a Halo 2 LAN party. If you enjoyed Halo 2 as much as I did, I highly suggest you do yourself the favor of enjoying it again.

Its a shame that the game was ruined for me from the constant need to have to call Microsoft and wait a week for a new product key. Since I reinstall Windows often..

Halo 2 for PC failed because it didn't support XP. And by "didn't support XP", I don't mean it didn't run on XP without some hacking.

My Xbox broke the day before I got Halo 3. I'm still waiting for the PC version to "finish the fight", 5 years later. ;-;

BF3 is, and always has been absolutely terrible. However, is Halo 2 Vista's online community still active? I'd love to nostalgia some.

You know you could do a fresh OS install, along with Halo 2 and use Windows's built in imaging capabilities to make a full backup of the fresh install. You could be backup and running in less than 30min without the need to re-install everything.

If you're using something older than Win7, here's a free imaging/cloning application:

I'm using Windows 7, until the Consumer Preview comes out. Though still I shouldn't have to do that.

God, I miss my Halo 2 days, even though it was on the 360, I had much fun on Halo Nights pointing my gun at the sky and wondering how the hell do I aim the controller.

I seriously feel like trying to get a LAN party together now. :(

This is like one of the best game ever.

Amazing campaign, Exellent multiplayer (23 MAPS!), Achievements, active online community and all that stuff. Not so long ago I beat the entire campaign at Normal difficulty. Haven't die 1 time against tartarus (last boss).

If you can't afford it there are some websites that are giving away free keys, that's how I got my copy. Enjoy!

I was actually playing Halo 2 on the PC this morning. Almost done with the campaign actually. I've played Halo for a decade and I must say how addicting the series is. :)

Get the copy. Play it, live it, love it. Play it online with others, which I hope you've gotten a Xbox 360 Controller for Windows since that makes it even funner to play! :D
