Questions about the Lumia 710

Recommended Posts

So I just found out today that I won a phone through their facebook contest and just wanted to know a little more about it. I know with andriod that my EVO can't run all the apps because it is not powerful enough. Do WPs have this problem or can i play all the games on my 710? Also for anyone here that has one should I get a case for it, or is it sturdy enough to be fine on it's own? Last I am going to try this as my main music player so I will be putting all my zune music on it. For those that do this does the battery last or am I gonna die quickly? Keep mind that I have put up with the EVO for almost 2 years so going from morning to night is fine with me.

You can play everything that is in the Marketplace

Use it for two to three days. You'll get the idea.

Battery will last long if you keep the brightness low, and powersaver mode ON

You really don't need a case as it comes with swappable back plates (5 colors are included). Just get a screen protector. You should be able to play all available games for Windows Phone.

this is a false statement, you get 1/5 of the swappable back plates. the other 4/5 are not included, if you want them you have to pay for them. (Trust me, I have a nokia lumia 710).

Keep in mind both Lumia's are easily the worst sounding Windows Phone devices - if you're much into audio quality. GSMArena have some acoustic tests, and they both fail pretty miserably. I can also personally vouch for the 800 having very bad audio quality compared to other phones I've tested through headphones - but it's a free phone eh :p

The battery should at least last you a day if you're listening to music, but saying that I can't vouch for that particular device.

I'm not too picky with my portable music quality as I just buy $10 headphones for those and leave my nice Bose ones at home. If the battery can last a day with music that's all I need. Anything longer and I'll just grab my Zune HD.

I have a Lumia 710, the external speaker on it is pretty soft, don't be surprised if you missed a few calls because you couldn't hear the phone ring, and don't be surprised if the alarm couldn't wake you up in the morning.

Other than that, the Lumia 710 is actually pretty good value. Everything about it is great. I get 13 hours of battery on it (normal usage, not continuous usage), not sure if your evo is better than that.

It can.

So I am loving it right now, minus the memory space but free phone is free phone. WP 7.5 has now become my favorite OS and I might start writing weekly letters to Sprint so they get one later this year lol.

Fixed in the latest firmware update!
