Anti Spam Alternative to GFI?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

One of the companies i look after have had their GFI Subscription expire and they dont have the funds to renew the subscription.

Is there a cheaper alternative to GFI that you guys would recommend? its SBS 2003 using Exchange for email.

A free alternative would be brilliant but i know these can have their limitations.

Any advice / points into the right direction would be great!

Cheers

how many emails are you talking about per company? if it is 10 or under, barracuda is free for antispam. Otherwise everything worth while is either a monthy or yearly cost, it is like a antivirus where definitions are constantly being updated. You could rely on the built in exchange features for antispam and a free mail blacklist site, this doesn't work as well a gfi or any of better antispam solutions but it would get you what you want.

Hey SC302

Do you happen to know how one can get the free barracuda antispam? Tried checking their site but looks like its only a 30 day trial using the following link - https://login.barracudanetworks.com/new_account?default=ess.

Sign up. It is free for up to 10 emails. After that it is going to cost. When I talked to them when I posted this it was only 10 emails and it was as simple as signing up for their cloud solution. You can contact yourself and talk to sales at 1800antispam.

Hello,

Have you checked to see if your anti-malware software vendor offers an anti-spam solution that you can add for a minimal upgrade fee?
