St. Louis man shoots friend in forehead at his request, police say

ST. LOUIS ? A man from the Clifton Heights neighborhood has been charged with shooting his friend point-blank in the forehead, after the friend asked him to do so, according to police.

The man who was shot, Matthew Pellegrini, 18, is not expected to survive, police say in charges filed Wednesday in St. Louis Circuit Court. No further information about the victim was immediately available.

The shooter, Kevin Beindorff, 21, of the 6000 block of Eitman Avenue, has been charged with one count of first-degree assault and one count of armed criminal action. A judge on Wednesday set $300,000 cash bond.

According to charges, Beindorff, Pellegrini and another person were in a vehicle outside Beindorff's home at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday when Beindorff showed his friends a revolver. Police say Pellegrini asked Beindorff to shoot him, so Beindorff raised the gun to his forehead and fired once.

Police say Beindorff then drove Pellegrini to an area hospital, where he was last listed in critical condition.

No further information was provided in court documents and police do not speak about cases once charges have been filed.
