Wikileaks: Israel hit Iran last year

Recommended Posts

Israel has destroyed all Iranian nuclear infrastructure on the ground, a November email from the US intelligence firm Stratfor released by Wikileaks on Monday claims, citing a "confirmed Israeli intelligence agent."

The email is one of five million the whistleblowing website plans to publish from the US-based global security analysis company that has been likened to a shadow CIA. The emails appear to contain a large amount of speculation and hearsay.

In an email from November 7, 2011, an Israeli intelligence agent is quoted as saying of reports that Israel is preparing a military offensive against Iran, "I think this is a diversion. The Israelis already destroyed all the Iranian nuclear infrastructure on the ground weeks ago."

The source adds that he believes the tension with Iran is part of a European conspiracy.

"The current 'let's bomb Iran' campaign was ordered by the EU leaders to divert the public attention from their at home financial problems."

I think this whole thing is a diversion within a diversion

The tension with Iran is to divert from European financial issues? Really? Seems a little far-fetched.

Yep and I have already read that some where. Which is why it is stuck in my head. I thought it was here but I must be wrong.

Yeah you rumbled us we are after Iran because of the whole Greece thing. What would be really good for the EU is a war in the middle east.

Really? How so? The war wouldn't solve EU's financial problems and therefore it's far fetched to say it would divert the public attention (at least for a longer period of time).

What you thought I was serious? The whole idea is so ridiculous and I thought my first sentence about Greece made that clear.

The EU wouldn't want a war in the middle east which will drive up oil prices and probably end up with us being involved in some way. Both of which cost a fortune.

The whole argument of "Lets start a war that will cost us a fortune to distract attention from the fact that we are broke and knackered" is so stupid I think this whole thing can be discounted. [joke] Who do you think we are? The US [/joke]

No worries. The whole thing was so ludicrous that I just assumed no one would take it at all seriously.

They might as well have said we were planing to bomb the moon to distract attention.
