People put their trust in companies to keep their data private. Yes, there is no telling if Google is actually reading your email or not but then again, the same thing can be said about any other company. But if I were to bet, I am sure they are not doing so as well as MS isnt doing so.
I don't trust someone I don't know, but that's just me.
then how about building ur own email server if you are too concerned???
how about not using a phone because ur wireless provider know who u are calling and what u are talking and all ur sms..

I do run my own private email server for my primary email...
All the rest of those concerns aren't the same. My work's primary business isn't selling its employees data to advertisers, for instance. But I was merely addressing the point that there is no way random people on Neowin could assert, with authenticity, that no one at Google is accessing private data, as has been asserted in this thread.
