lion Cannot disable DNS Server - Lion

Hey Guys,

New install of OS X Server (lion), and the DNS Server Service is stuck on and will not disable for love nor money!

Ideas?

You sure you have Lion server installed? Cause that sure looks like the snow leopard interface.

It's the additional server tools you can download. Gives you all of the SL Server functions since the stock Lion Server interface sucks.

I wish I could provide some help on this... Have you tried disabling it from the terminal?

Not sure if this command still works... sudo serveradmin stop dns

Yeah this is the 'Server Admin' window which functions similar to Snow Leopard Server.

This looks to have worked! Cheers, to Disable Apache I actually had to rename the httpd file in 'sbin'... Lion Server is fail!

I agree! I haven't upgraded any of my servers from Snow Leopard yet for this reason. Glad to have helped.
