iOS 5.1 feels much "snappier"

Recommended Posts

I just upgraded my iPhone 4 to 5.1. It feels much snappier. Has anyone else noticed this?

Did you do an upgrade or did you do a restore and then upgrade? I like to do the latter, takes longer but really does make the phone feel quicker.

Its definitely faster on my iphone 4s. It also fixed this problem i had loading the camera from the lock screen. It would not fully load up and you would have to either unlock the phone then go into camera or move the video switch to get the camera app to fully load from unlock.

with 5.1 installed the camera INSTANTLY loads from locked state for me now. Some apps are also loading faster for me.

Less errors on the Console logs too. Location Services isn't launching every 10 seconds on my iPhone 4S anymore. Battery life doesn't seam all that improved though....

Seems to feel a little faster on my 4S. Can't comment on battery life yet because I haven't really been using it for long enough.

doesn't the "snappier" thing get said about every new version of iOS?

Not if you're the unfortunate owner of an iPhone 3G, apparently. :p

Seems to be a bit faster, yeah.

Hopefully it'll be better with battery as well. At the end of the day, I'll know.

I wish I could experience this snappiness - unfortunately I still cannot download iOS 5.1 either through iTunes, OTA or direct download! :(

Lost 3% battery in 9 hours on standby, that isnt to bad at all considering i was losing around 20% on 5.0.1.
