Hello!
I need a relatively specific dictionary file, and was just wondering if anyone has one that would match what I need.
Basically I need:
  • No abbreviations
  • No "sounds" - since I'm not using this as a brute-force dictionary, I don't need the "sounds" that many of the brute-force dictionaries have, like "aaaa" and other letters that are useful in brute-force attacks. I need this to determine whether or not a given word is actually a word.
If no one knows of one (or if it's against the rules to ask for this), I'll just use Bing to determine whether or not it's a word.
Thanks,
Matthew

I found this by googling "dictionary file valid english words" (without the quotes)

http://wordlist.sourceforge.net/

SCOWL looks promising.

Thanks very much, that seems to be exactly what I was looking for :)
